Maternity Session at the National Portrait Gallery
It was an unseasonably warm Sunday afternoon in February. The couple arrived at the National Portrait Gallery in DC. It didn't take long for me to see how much they loved each other. I was in particular awe of Devon's love for his wife, Karen, of 10 years. I was encouraged to hear they met through church and were even part of a church planting!
Devon made it clear that this maternity shoot was about her. He wanted to see her vision come true. He honored her, cherished her, and gushed over their first child growing in her womb. I love seeing strong husbands. I love even more seeing strong fathers. I have no doubt in my mind that Karen and Devon's firstborn son with be loved, provided for, encouraged, strengthened, and trained in the Lord by his parents.
During the session, they got to share special moments together. They shared their many blessings. They prayed over their unborn son. They pointed out who would be the disciplinarian and who is the best cook! I'm so grateful to have been a part of this special moment. To see a love shared. To see hope for the next generation.
