Tween Acting + Model Headshots: Laila // Washington, DC Headshots

She arrived in my studio with her mom. She was still in her school uniform with her hair in two braids. She was at a wedding when makeup artist and hair stylist, Carla Pressley, was taken by her gorgeous red hair. “You have to try modeling!” So young Laila got her mom’s permission and hit the ground running.

PortraitHER Session: Bahia // DC Headshots

Like many business owners, we go through a season of transition and change to better align our business with our vision. As Bahia was announcing a transition in her business, On the Purple Couch, from being a retail store to a studio that focused on face-to-face interactions and services with her clients, she needed an image that would communicate that this wasn't an ending, but a bright beginning of something new and exciting that would be a blessing to her and her family.

Thanks for the mutually encouraging session, Anne!

Meet Aleah. She's a super dope engineer and fellow Howard University alumni. She was a Project Engineer for L'Oreal before moving back into the DC area this August to attend graduate school at American University. When she reached out to me, she wanted new headshots for her job hunt, particularly since all of her existing images were before she chopped all her hair off. She also had the wisdom to know that she should start building her personal brand while in school.

PortraitHER Session: Suzanne // DC Professional Headshots

I arrived at the studio 20 minutes before our session, and there was Suzanne, dressed in a beautiful linen blazer with navy trim and a navy dress. Even her shoes were a beautiful woven navy and khaki color with gold details. A perfect look for a woman who works on Capitol Hill for West Virginia University's Government Relations team. Since she didn't live in West Virginia, it was challenging to get to campus to get her headshot taken for the staff web page by the university's photographer.
