Brand Story: Type A Invitations

Silver Spring, MD

When a team of creatives collaborates, magic happens!

With my wardrobe stylist and videographer in tow, this Deluxe Brand Story with promo video started in Georgetown, where my client’s father drove her beautiful white Harley down to make a debut for this rogue designer. We wanted to make sure we captured the many facets of her personality and style, along with an epic b-roll of her riding her bike.

Next, we moved to a rented location to shoot the “creative director” story. We had her clients join us for creating custom brand stock. We even had them mic up for an interview in her promo video.

We captured the last story in her home, where she has her home office and her letterpress studio. She wanted clients to get a sense of her studio's handcrafted, custom nature. It was also vital that she featured her daughter in solidarity with all the amazing working moms killing it!

Take a look at the video we created from our time together and some favorite shots from the day!

“Before working with Shala, I felt anxious about doing a brand shoot, like I would never be ready. But I also knew that I really just needed to do it already. Shala is truly an expert in branding — during our first talk together, she helped me work through and finally gain clarity on specifics about my brand that I've spent years on the fence about.”

“During the brand story, I was excited about her energy and knew I was in great hands. She really helped get every shot I needed and kept everyone upbeat. I couldn't wait to see the magic we made. For real…there was great energy! ”

“WOW! Just from the very first sneak peek I was in love…she truly has an eye for capturing your best light. And I love the little detail shots that I didn't even realize she was taking. Shala was incredibly patient, professional, and cool. She was great to be around and really helped me relax and get into my first shoot. I'm looking forward to hiring her again, soon! ”
